I saw a beautiful Great Blue Heron this morning. Its feathers were so dark they nearly appeared black instead of blue! I've never seen a Great Blue look like that - it was beautiful!

We have simplified the way submissions work because Google Forms was not working properly. If you have submitted, please consider resubmitting under these new guidelines so your work can be credited appropriately. Forms did not save contact information with the subs!

There's bugs in our submission form! Please excuse me while I change the entire way that people submit so poor submitters aren't lost to the Google Form Void.

Getting all the bugs out of the system so that submitters may submit and birds may be fed. If you notice something that looks off on our website or socials, please feel free to let us know. This is a tiny team of bird lovers, and sometimes things fall through the cracks!

Screaming, crying, cawing at the moon - can't believe so many cool, wonderful people are interested in this little idea! Thank you so much!

It's the EIC's birthday today - another year older, another year enriched by literature and art.

This week is truly blessed Sandhill Cranes dropped by my place twice this week.

We have reached just over 100 amazing people on our Instagram and wanted to thank everyone for the overwhelming support! With that many people, we could fill a whole coffee shop to the brim! From the bottom of my heart, thank you, this has made the EIC's birthday even more lovely.

Cozied up during a rainy day today to read poetry and write essays. What has everyone else been up to?
October 7, 2026 at 10:35 PM
Friendly birdy reminder: we are still looking for folks to join us in literary merriment!
We're looking for help! Right now, the EIC is the only one here and we're hoping to change that. If you have a love for literature or the visual arts, maybe you'd want to team up to make something cool? Experience comes in many forms - first timers are welcome! Hit us up if you have any questions 🐦

The EIC survived the DMV. Now, we write!
October 7, 2026 at 6:27 PM
At the DMV but I'd rather be writing poetry.

I want a timeline alive with art and poetry on this account. Excuse me while I follow a bunch of cool people 😅🎉

Not all writers / artists can create full time to make ends meet. The EIC currently pet sits to help do just that! Meet Baby Girl, a favorite part of my day every day. Do you have a beloved side gig? Share with us! And post those pet pics!

Is our branding's color palette 'maximum bird'? How do you feel about the color purple? Where did my bird seed go?
