Yet another one - the last audiobook for now - out today on Spotify. Other suppliers may follow. Alex Wyndham does a really good job of these books.

Great news!

Tantor Media have recorded four more of my Master Mercurius books as audiobooks. They'll be released from October to December this year, read by the outstanding Alex Wyndham (who read the first three). They'll be available on Audible.

He's back. Time to save your pennies and get those orders in. Tell your friends what they're missing.

In this one Slonský:
· falls out with a friend
· gets into disciplinary trouble
· drinks beer and eats sausages

I don't have a publication date for the next Slonský story, but I do have a title and a cover! I'll let you know when it's ready for pre-order.

In the Communist era, where did Prague's leading women go to relax? But now its driving force is dead, and the Ladies' Lounge seems to be implicated in it.

The girls know that when we cross the road they switch hands so I stay walking on the road side of the pavement. I was slow to move today so the 4-y-o told me that I need to be by the road because a car might hurt her but adults don’t mind being hit by cars.

The first draft of the eighth Slonský adventure is complete. Now to put it aside a few days until I forget the plot and can re-read it for editing without seeing what I want to see.

Nineteen years ago we went to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Each hearth was once a hut, each hut was once full. Prisoners were stripped naked before being shot at this wall so their uniforms would not be spoiled. This happened before I was born, but it must be remembered after I am gone.

New router set up today, so the rest of the morning will be occupied in connecting every device in the house to it including inputting the password at least 12 times, often using an onscreen keyboard and going up down left right.

We just had our carol walk in one of our parishes. The village is encouraged to have their lights up by tonight, then all who wish walk from the village hall round the village to the church, sing some carols, decorate the church tree, and walk together to the pub. Wonderful!

A very Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends. We can't be there this year, but we have happy memories of Thanksgiving meals with friends and family in Georgia.

I'm not in the USA this Thanksgiving, but this is the time when I customarily try to explain to my fellow Britons that in some American homes the turkey will be deep-fried. Whole. Honestly. youtu.be/QBmBC0cJWjA

The 4-y-o is keen to have a pet, but Daddy is allergic to cats and dogs. She is looking for a pet that won't roam the house, and has just confided that she is torn between a rabbit and a gorilla. Gorillas, it seems, are tickly. David Attenborough has a lot to answer for.

I showed some young children (Recp/Yr1/Yr2) around the church today. They decided the altar must be the most important bit because it was high up so everyone could see it, were fascinated by the aumbry, tried to count the crosses on things, loved the kneelers, wished they could try the bells...

The 4-y-o has learned, thanks to diligent practice over the weekend, to say the th- in the, these, those, correctly, and is now inserting them in every sentence she can to milk the applause. (Previously she said it as an aspirated t.)
