All local sites for Spiranthes are parched, bare & devoid of plants so a trip to S. Wales was the only way for us to see the last(?) orchid of the year. & fortunately they were showing in some quantity @ukorchids.bsky.social

As expected Cut-leaved germander has appeared in quantity at its only Glos site this year but, like many of us, it's not thriving in the heat...

Wiltshire Downs wonderfully floriferous. Never seen Round-headed rampion so abundant & as for the Clustered bellflower! Numerous Dark green fritillaries & Painted ladies adding to the spectacle.

Clattinger Farm WWT reserve. Floodplain hay meadows, storing carbon, supporting biodiversity & ready to slow & filter the next inevitable floods. Beauty & utility. @floodplainmead.bsky.social @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social

Clattinger Farm is looking absolutely magnificent right now, despite the heat & drought. One of the finest species rich hay meadows in the lowlands. We are so lucky places like this are protected & still exist. #WildflowerHour @wildflowerhour.bsky.social @bsbibotany.bsky.social

Early purple orchids here in Donegal are still in full flower, along with primroses! Probably as a result of the distinctly cold weather! It was great to finally meet up with Sean Cole & Mike Waller at Sheskinmore today. @ukorchids.bsky.social

Only 4 Burnt orchids seen at Pewsey Downs today; better than last year when there were none. Most years there are 100s; still it's early yet.... @ukorchids.bsky.social
