Fascism has never come to power without money from rich people and the collusion of at least some of the mainstream conservative right.
All that stuff about liberty and the rule-of-law goes out of the window when a left-ish government threatens to make them pay a bit more tax.

I have moderate Tory friends who would still rather see a Tory-Reform government after GE2029 than a Labour-led one, and I cannot really understand them any more
So in one week:
1) Reform get stung for dodgy finances, and the regulators play pass the parcel about enforcement
2) Farage announces plans to largely dismantle independent scrutiny of govt, and barely any press discussion of it
3) Masked thugs blockade a port, with narry a word from senior govt
