A couple bad comedies, a directorial debut carried by Tangerine Dream, and a world ruled by an evil patriarch god named Birdman

Despite being a huge, longtime Devo fan, I just finished listening through Total Devo and Smooth Noodle Maps for the first time just a bit ago. I'm surprised and excited to report that Smooth Noodle Maps absolutely RIPS. Got me from feeling worn down to dancing around the house. Fantastic album

Doing a last five watched this time around, mainly bc I want to mention that the Night of the Hunter is truly, truly incredible.

The issue she originally passed away in was maybe the best single issue during the clone saga

A big conundrum for me is that whenever people ask me for Spider-Man reading recs I kinda always end up being like, "Well, Life Story is pretty good. You could also just, like, read the origin and the first two or four hundred issues of Amazing Spider-Man."

4 very different films. Cronenberg made a pretty decent comic book movie.

I'm glad there's a few movies this year that are divisive. Love to see lots of disagreement surrounding movies like Disclosure Day and the Odyssey. I get kinda weary of consensus opinions/talking points being repeated over and over again.

The confederate flag is an obvious symbol of racism. The US flag is a covert one. The USA is evil at its foundations. All patriotism is a disease.

Said something about being prone to limerence, and when my roommate asked me to define limerence all I could think to say is "it's basically the modus operandi of Carly Rae Jepsen's music".

Think this might be the first time I bought weekly comics and got only non-superhero stuff. Granted it was a really light week. Only got 3 issues and two of them were no. 1s

3. How I'm feeling now
4. True Romance
5. Music, Fashion, Film
6. Brat
7. Crash
8. Number 1 Angel
9. Charli
10. Sucker

I've recently caught up with listening to a bunch of albums from 2022-25 that I wanted to hear, and I wanna say bc I haven't really seen anybody else talk about it: Sincerely by Kali Uchis is a generationally good album. So phenomenal it sent me into a minor existential crisis when I first listened

Really sucks that wildfire pollution is just part of the midwest's seasonal weather now. Thanks oil companies, hope some kind of hell is real so that you all burn in it.

Two very different Supergirls with two very different sets of pros and cons. After that, I finally broke the 3-star rating streak with a couple fantastic vintage movies

This might be the gift time I've given a 3 start rating 4 times in a row. Please keep in mind that 3 stars is still a thumbs up. Thought these were all good-not-great

A day late for #letterboxdfriday , but these are my last four watched.

My brother @qlover72.bsky.social has been showing me some Bond movies lately which has been fun.
