NEW: Our analysis found that from 2020 to 2025, the rate of deaths involving ectopic pregnancies nearly doubled compared with the previous six-year period.

The uptick was steeper in states with abortion bans.
Ectopic Pregnancy Deaths Have Nearly Doubled. It’s Worse in States With Abortion Bans.
With prompt and appropriate medical care, experts say, people shouldn’t die from an ectopic pregnancy. Women in Texas and Oklahoma have sued over delays in care, which, coupled with our new analysis, ...

Remarkable how little political noise it's made here in the US that a major American naval base in Bahrain was basically destroyed, and that this was kept quiet for five months www.nytimes.com/2026/08/14/u...

There’s a city in my county, where ~2024 the city council approved use of an old golf course to build A DATA CENTER there. Not housing (which it desperately needs!)
People started hearing about it in the last few months as ground is breaking, and they are very mad!
People who keep pointing out that golf courses use as much water as data centres as some sort of defence of data centres drastically underestimate the amount we also hate golf.

“Your horror has been stolen from you” is a 10/10 sentence.
You can and should point out that police killing people daily is the "norm" in America. But that doesn't mean you *accept* the normalization of this violence and the way some people rush to smugly point these things out contributes to collective fatigue. Your horror has been stolen from you.

Yesterday ICE agents shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a father, husband, and beloved neighbor who spent 35 years building a life in the U.S.

Our hearts are heavy with grief for his family and all those suffering at the hands of ICE, CBP, and this administration's unrelenting cruelty.

I could go on and on. Over 500,000 children have already died due to USAID cuts. Hundreds of thousands more children lost their parents.

Every one of those children had a name. They had futures, and they were loved

For the first time in 30 years, child deaths are now rising, in large part due to USAID cuts

Lancet modelling shows USAID cuts will cause 14 million deaths including 4.5m children, by 2030. Independent CGDev research backs this up

Read the *entire* thread.

It is measurable fact that the (sickly gleeful) “chain sawing” of USAID by Musk & co. has resulted in real, measurable, large increases in preventable disease, malnutrition, starvation, maternal & infant mortality, and death.
Musk says not a single person has died due to him axing USAID. Sadly, part of my job involves tracking aid spending. So here’s a thread with just some of the people who lost their lives because of USAID cuts

A year ago, Musk’s actions directly led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. He did it knowingly. And, worse — gleefully.

Today Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire. He’s also directly responsible for millions of deaths.

Here are just some of the people who would still be alive if he hadn’t—with no warning or contingency measures—chosen to put USAID through the wood chipper
A year ago Elon Musk tweeted that he had fed USAID "into the wood chipper."

It was an act that killed people. We don't know most of their names, but we know 27. I've listed them below.

Much like with Renee Good + Alex Pretti, we should also remember these lives taken by the cruel men who lead us

We do not have voting rights in this country anymore. We just don’t. We did for a while because Congress codified them pursuant to a constitutional amendment enacted by the people in a great repudiation of the original sin of slavery. But the Supreme Court has nullified that law and that amendment.
