The Supreme Court's fourth and final decision is Mullin v. Doe. By a 6–3 vote, the conservatives hold that federal law prohibits judicial review of non-constitutional objections to TPS terminations, and the constitutional claims here fail. The liberals dissent. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

Compare Alito's description of Trump's racist statements (on the left) to Justice Kagan's anthology of Trump's racist statements (on the right). These are passages from this morning's opinions in Mullin v. Doe.

Today's Second Amendment decision has little to do with law and less to do with history (which Alito ignores or denies as needed to reach his conclusion). It's all about power—the supermajority shoving its preferred gun policy down our throats with brute force. Odious. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Say what you will about this passage from Lawrence v. Texas, but Kennedy was honest about what he was doing. He didn't hide behind some tendentious misreading of history. Alito's Wolford opinion irks me because he refuses to admit that he's doing living constitutionalism for the Second Amendment.

The sweaty white guys who weirdly monitor my BlueSky (please go away) evidently lack the intellectual sophistication to grasp this point. But it's my main beef with these gun cases: The majority keeps lying about what it's doing so it can praise its (false) objectivity. slate.com/news-and-pol...

I try not to respond to these X dead-enders because they're losers who seemingly crave my attention. But I do want to be clear here: My criticism of Wolford is that the majority purports to be using history as an objective guide—a claim that Obergefell, and many other liberal decisions, do NOT make!

The food hall features literal emojis printed onto flags but be aware that almost none of these options are actually available. I promised my son pizza on the basis of that first flag and he was disappointed when we discovered there was no pizza to be had. (It’s also all insanely overpriced.)

Also just to be clear, most of those working the event were not MAGA. They were normal people helping with security, food, logistics, etc. I don’t judge them and they don’t deserve any hate. A small cadre of disproportionately white volunteers did appear to be MAGA and obviously that’s different!

By a 6–3 vote, the Supreme Court reverses a decision in favor of Pedro Hernandez, a mentally impaired man who was pressured into an allegedly false confession of murder through these👇unconstitutional tactics. The supermajority says he did not face a deprivation of "clearly established" rights.

One reason I harp on this is bc you cannot understand Broadview 6 unless you understand that DOJ immediately moved to charge mostly Dem political figures RATHER THAN figuring out who scratched PIG into the SUV, if in fact protestors did.

This pretends to be like Jan6. But it worked in reverse.
In his column on Todd Blanche's abuse of the legal system, @davidfrenchjag.bsky.social confuses charges against co-conspirators and the actual defendants in the Broadview 6 case, effectively falling for a legal ploy that Trump likes to use.

The families and the Onion have been screwed over by the legal system at literally every opportunity out of fear of Alex, likely hoping they would drop the whole thing.

But they didn’t.

Support the new Infowars and keep your eye on the Texas courts.
Great recap here of the hellacious InfoWars legal drama we've been living in for almost two years now, and the ridiculous machinations we've been going through in order to pay the Sandy Hook families literally anything at all.

Good stuff by @lizdye.bsky.social .

I say this almost every day but

The MOST democratic and Democratic thing any of us can do is hold our own “team” accountable. And when we don’t, we end up in administrations like this.

I like my leaders to question authority and invite criticism. If you can’t, you should step down.
I say this with no ill will or animosity: if you hate the Democratic Party, then please don’t run for our nomination.

Don’t use our resources. Don’t rely on our volunteers. Don’t use our infrastructure. Don’t ask Democrats to invest their time, money, and energy in your campaign.

When these data centers become debt traps in a few years at most, the next Dem president should offer to wipe out those debts if they're sold for a dollar back to cities for community centers, mutual aid hubs, YMCA-style temporary housing services. Try to salvage anything out of this mess.
