If a cat wants something all it has to do is stand in the middle of a room and start meowing loudly and someone will actually come by and try to figure out what it wants. It is unfair I cannot do this

Make art that you think is fuckin sick as hell. Make the shit you never thought you could that you always wanted to see. Beat your insecurity to death and fight to become your own favorite artist.

Anyway, just create. Write shit, draw shit, build whatever you want, that's the important part.
There's no be-all end-all formula for the Perfect Work.
Just be YOU. No one can ever create what YOU create b/c it's you making it, and you are the only you.

Genuinely think anyone can “git gud” at any creative craft they are interested in. If we wanted to actually “democratize” art we would invest in housing, healthcare, food and education as human rights. All GenAI does is make people even more financially precarious and less able to pursue a passion
I think a bit of the "AI is democratizing art" argument is trying to avoid the ugly truth that to get good at anything you have to do a lot of it. I grew up "knowing" I was a good writer, but I really wasn't until about 700k words, and it took reading hours of scripts to really have a voice

i urge people to put love and effort into hosting fandom events where we can write/draw each other stuff while building community instead of using AI (destroys the environment, steals people’s work, very uncool 👎)

the vibe in this artist's opinion is that marketing for a large company (spotify, youtube, apple, whoever) isn't necessary. instead of sharing a marketing-approved package of numbers, write posts or blogs about the music you are loving year-round, it is so so much more exciting for me to see that

honestly, just "liking" stuff actually feels wrong, as someone so used to reblogging on tumblr. i'll just start rebloggering then. character limit is weird though, so i still won't be much of a poster.
