Project "Bristol Max" showing mild success tonight! An impromptu number of ringers meant we had enough to try out 2 leads, with quite a good success rate! Reasons to be optimistic 😁

Started playing Final Fantasy VI recently and amazingly come to the conclusion that everybody else came to 30 years ago... It's rather good!

I’ve always found the dietary concept of “a square or two of dark chocolate” incredibly depressing. That’s not a treat! Might as well be a couple of radishes.

The best way to ring some spliced major is just to conduct it yourself!

Not a bad day at the office given the heat! Managed to get the hang of the crosswind that was coming from the industrial fan in the ringing chamber

The dog refuses to use her cooling mat, so I've had a lovely day with it down the back of my chair.

One of the great things about holiday flights is having time to catch up on all these great films, and finally being able to go back and read Darren's columns without fear of spoilers.
Oh, I went long on "One Battle After Another" for @secondwindgroup.com.

How Paul Thomas Anderson crafted a tale that understands the one key advantage revolution has over fascism. We are all in it together.

Has anyone ever had an alcohol chocolate that they've ever actually liked? Getting ready to throw my annual haul of Bailey's Truffles, and Whiskey Drops into the bin...

Starting to get the hang of this malarky of running the practice! Can't for the life of me stop asking people to "knock behind" when they're going to be turning it in 🙄

A rare absence on practice night yesterday - off doing District things, like organising a QP at our planned striking competition tower. No bells broken, ropes frayed, or angry neighbours! A success!

Had a good chat about the plans for the Ipswich Training Bells last night - very exciting stuff! I can't wait to teach lots of new people to ring!

Can't tenor behind, but very good boy once he gets to lead!

Very sad to hear about the passing of Jim Towler. I was one of many ringers who had the pleasure to have him in the band for my first peal - his enthusiasm for encouraging ringers to keep pealing was one of the main reasons I stuck it. He will be sorely missed.

The yearly tradition of losing a peal for the Christmas Tree festival continues today with having to stop 5 courses from the end of Grandsire Cinques with the tenor ringer not feeling well. Ey well, if it was easy, it wouldn't be worth doing!

Always tricky when only 5 people turn up to a Surprise Major practice! Two touches of Stedman Doubles later, we were ready to go to pub - better luck next month.

Oh no! It's that time of year where I start getting chased for reports! How to summarise a busy year of ringing 🤔 Interpretative dance?

Had a blast at Erin Cinques tonight as well. It's really great to see that yesterday's QP band had some solid front-work! All the rows were much cleaner without wondering if it's a dodge or lead first...

Cracking practice tonight! Some fabulous visitors with some even more fabulous Stedman, Cambridge and Yorkshire. One of those rare nights where I even managed to sit out!

Lovely composition by John Hyden tonight. Perfect for giving some other members of our band some intensive Erin practice.
