Trump has been determined to disprove every argument that Electoral College proponents have made.

No, it doesn’t compel candidates to pay attention to the interests of voters all over the country. It shields a tyrant from electoral blowback when he tells states that voted against him to drop dead
Ahead of the midterms, Trump isn’t even being subtle about his brazen politicization of federal disaster relief aid, explicitly tying approvals to campaign endorsements and election results.

It’s one of the underappreciated scandals of his second term.

cool things Dolly Parton did that you may not have known: a thread.

supported families after the Gatlinburg fires:
When the Gatlinburg Wildfires happened in 2016, Dolly gave impacted families $1,000/month to help them get back on their feet. This included my father-in-law, who lost everything in the fire. Dolly gave children in TN free books each month, from birth to the age of five. She was a goddamn saint.

Dolly was so happy for three reasons:

- she used her creativity to make things
- she gave away what she had to make other people's lives better
- she knew and loved God, and did the first two things in that context.

All these things are available to all of us.
there's not a lot of super rich people who really earned their wealth, and very few who used it to truly make the world better. as much as i love her music, it's that part that i've always loved the most about Dolly Parton

They fought for the U.S. in Afghanistan. Now they worry about losing their green cards
When the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan five years ago, thousands of Afghans who helped U.S. troops were brought here to rebuild their lives. But now, some fear the U.S. may want to send them back.

These questions have now been asked of Blanche repeatedly & he gives the same bullshit answer each time.

Here’s an idea: How about we ask Blanche direct and pointed questions about his noncompliance with court orders from Judge Sullivan compelling him to provide unredacted Epstein Files?
WELKER: Can you pledge the DOJ will always act independently of the WH?

BLANCHE: No, I'm not going to pledge that

WELKER: So if the president asked you do to something that you feel crosses an ethical or legal line, would you do it?

BLANCHE: He would never do that. He never has. He never will.

If he won’t defend the United States of America from a country he’s attacking, he should be removed from office.

Hard to think of a anything that could be less controversial than that.
This is a crisis of federalism. Tim Walz is asserting as fact that Iran attacked water infrastructure in Minnesota and several other states. And Trump is saying it's Minnesota's own fault they were attacked as part of a war he started.
