of the many things to love about Tim Curry and Dolly Parton, here's one: It's as if every time they heard someone say, "you're going too big," they went BIGGER. Big presence, big hair, big charisma, big everything. Pouring one out for two artists who just WENT FOR IT and never apologized for that.
I was on my way to a Fringe show when I saw the news about Dolly. Three places I passed were playing her songs. At the end of the show, there was an impromptu tribute, from two comedians doing a show in Edinburgh with nothing to do with her or her music. What an impact. What a gut punch this is 💔

Can’t believe it’s time to head home from Canada tomorrow. The last week and a half visiting Toronto, Niagara, Montreal and Quebec City has simultaneously felt like ages and no time at all. One for the revisit list for sure.

First couple of days in Toronto were pretty sports heavy, starting with a Tempo game and then a Blue Jays game last night. Great experiences both.

Garbage at Edinburgh Castle was something very special. I’ve seen them many times over the years but this was probably the best yet. The haar that had hung around all day turning to rain just as they played Only Happy When It Rains was perfect. What a band, what a gig. Shirley Manson, #1 crush.
