Pete Hegseth had a special internet line installed in his Pentagon office — in defiance of Defense Dept. security protocols — so that he could use Signal on a personal computer there.

The "dirty" line (called that because it's not secure) increases the likelihood of being hacked or surveilled.
Pete Hegseth's behavior has become "erratic," and he seems increasingly "insecure" about his job and standing in the admin.

Officials who operate in Hegseth's vicinity describe him as difficult and prickly, and said that he berates and yells at the staff.
