except of course New Zealand First, but mainly cause Winnie lives here. I've lived here for 23yrs and seen very little investment and change. A recent trip to the QT area blew my mind at how much investment and infrastructure is actually possible. It's all a choice... 2/2

I just think we need to be more careful of this idea that Northland is 'nowhere'. I don't support National in the least, but have to give it to them that they are at least mentioning the North and possibly partly why it's a National stronghold. I've heard no mention from any of the other parties 1/2

Also just to be clear, I'll still be voting ✅

While I agree with your sentiment regarding the cost of RoNS and think the Warkworth to Te Hana motorway unnecessary, can we stop punching down on Northland please. I mean heck, we've been excluded once again from the Greens trains proposal, which means all 200,000 have no option but to drive :(

Thank you for posting this, your courage has reminded me that I need to do the same :)

Thank you, that is very kind :)
I'm just grateful we are on the home stretch now with only 4 weeks of actual class time left before exams, and then she is out of the system...

My daughter (ASD Diagnosis) can only attend school 4 days per week due to fatigue. School are aware, she's achieved all her L3 NCEA credits so far, and yet we were still sent a letter last term stating if she didn't increase her attendance she'd be removed from the roll. Infuriating and stressful!!

Met someone in Northland today who is convinced that Winston Peters just needs to become PM and then he will have free reign to get stuff done in Northland, ie: upgrade the rail line. "Those clowns in the Green, Blue and Red parties are useless". Unfortunately I was working and so unable to rebut 🫣

Gah it's infuriating!

My 20yr old has a job at a fast-food joint to help pay for his living costs and keep his student loan down (doesn't qualify for student allowance). But he's only getting 10-12hrs a week even though he keeps asking for more hours.

Those supermarket jobs we all had in the 80s and 90s are largely gone due to self-checkout machines. No more paper runs, lots of shops closing down so minimal retail assistant roles. I fear for my daughter who finishes school this year but isn't sure she wants to study yet...

Crikey 10/10! Got to thank Bernard Hickey and Musical Chairs for that score.

My daughter eats glutinous ones and that's what she usually does - must be good I guess :)

Thanks for that :) Might be nicer if they are pan fried (once cooked through) until they are crispy too?

It may very well mean "no new taxes", however what subsidies will they cut, new charges/levies, etc. Just because tax stays the same, doesn't mean people are better off. This term we have seen increases in food, insurance, petrol, elec, GP visits, new RUCs, $ back for scripts, bus fare sub gone etc.
