real life college losers
Characters Aika and Zira from Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl but college aged. Zira has their hair in an updo, tied by a bandana, a purple halter top and frilly denim skirt. They also have a lip piercing and tattoos. Aika wears a blue and yellow cropped tank top, dark, baggy denim jeans and her hair is now black on top and blonde on the bottom. She still has scars on her abdomen. Zira stands behind Aika holding her around her shoulders and Aika holds their forearm while she smiles back at them.

I'd never tell you this, but lately I haven't been sleeping well (1/4) #idwtbamg 🌠
fanart comic panel of the indie series pretty pretty please I don't want to be a magical girl. in this first panel, zira narrates: "I have these nightmares where you never came here, and I never changed". aika is centered, in her magical girl form. behind her is a series of faded out images of zira upset and keeping to herself at school and in the bathroom mirror.

A fancomic of Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl that references the "Sand guardian" Vine. Aika looks unamused, saying "I am the Star Guardian... Guardian of the Stars." Zira appears next to her suddenly saying "ECLIPSE QUIVERS BEFORE HER!!!" The final panel shows Aika saying "Fuck off." to Eclipse, who looks like a sad bowl of mashed potatoes.

Verengt: Do you know what they think of us? Talita: It's... similar? Your relaxed eyes and lips actually look like an "angry" expression to them. Talita points at her face, relaxing her eyes into a half-lidded position and her lip corners into a droop. The impression is similar to a human glower or displeased frown. Verengt: Is that why you're doing all this with your eyelids⁇  Their trunk curls into a smile, and they mimic the expressions Talita makes with her nictitating membranes, gesturing similarly with a hand. Verengt: I thought you were just very anxious! Talita glances away in embarrassment, rubbing her neck with a hand. Talita: Er... Well… It may be both. Verengt: I've never met another dwaull like you. I look forward to talking more! Talita's expression falls. Talita: I’m so sorry, I don’t know what Mel told you… But I’m actually… leaving this place. Tonight. Verengt: Ah, so we won’t be working with you? Talita: No… Verengt: A shame! But we would never keep you from traveling. Talita: Is there any way I could contact you from space? I hate to leave you without any help adjusting to the job. Verengt grimaces and reaches underneath the cloak covering their back. Verengt: Partwack… my children are better with alien technology than me… Verengt: But I do have this… They lift their cloak, briefly revealing the six larvae clinging to their back. They are round and chubby with vertical stripes, and each is chewing on the end of a silk thread produced from a pair of spinnerets emerging where a tail would be on a mammal. Talita looks down at them in delight and wonder. Verengt pulls a phone out of their pocket and drops the cape, peering at the screen with a monocle corded to the phone case. Verengt: If you give me the number of your phone, I can send messages to it. Talita: Oh! Yes! Of course. Verengt pops the monocle into the socket on the back of their phone and hands it to Talita, who enters her phone number on the screen's extremely large text input. She hands it back to Verengt. Talita: If you have any questions at all, contact me. The equipment is designed for humans, so you to have to be creative to get some of it to work. Verengt: I will send messages to you, Talita. Have a safe migration! They step back to rejoin the three other centaurs, making a downwards gesture with an open palm. The other three repeat the gesture. Talita is slightly confused, but beaming with a returned trunk smile anyways. Talita: ...Yeah! Talita walks with a fleet of autonomously driven trucks full of luggage through the plant, and out towards the main airlock. There, near the same lockers that Talita used to suit up with the temp workers, Idrisah and Gillie are putting on their company-assigned exosuits. Talita: Sorry I'm late. Idrisah: No problem, you're... Ugh! She fumbles the ring of the hip gasket and her pants drop down to her knees, dangling by a fluid cooling linkup. Talita smiles, this time with her mouth. Talita: Need help? Idrisah looks at her, apologetic. Idrisah: Yes please.

I’m experimenting with making a coloring book! I’m undecided between making a staple bound one with thin paper, or just a stack of like 30 loose prints like this on thicker card stock. Do y’all have a preference?

A New Color (1/5🧵)
Page 1: A man is walking home, smoking a cigarette, being quietly trailed by a UFO above him. As he enters his apartment, two aliens watch from inside the ship. Alien 1, who has a large head, says, “that’s him. Let’s move.” Page 2: The man walks upstairs as the aliens watch from the entrance of the building. The man enters his apartment and greets his little dog. Suddenly there is a knock at the door. Page 3: he peers through his peephole, and sees the two aliens standing in the hallway. Alien 1 is holding a briefcase. From behind him, the voice of alien one: “don’t scream.” Page 4: The aliens are seated across the room on the man’s couch. Sadie is in her bed next to them. Alien 1 says, “you’re not in any danger. Have a seat.” The man looks at his dog and thinks, “sadie is unusually calm.” Alien 1: don’t scream, or it’s a problem.

Might as well throw up all 4 of the images from last night's astrophotography session! These are all built from 150 4-second exposures per image, under Bortle 2 or 3 (depending on who you ask) skies.

Alt texts describe what's in each image. Super proud of the last one.
The Centaurus pointers (the two bright stars to the left) and Crux/Southern Cross (the 5ish stars to the right with the big black patch next to it), set against the milky way. The black patch is called the Coal Sack, and the faintly visible pink patch to the bottom right is the Running Chicken nebula. This is a sight that a lot of people in the northern hemisphere won't ever see themselves unless they travel, since above ~26° north latitude it never rises above the horizon. So if you're in texas or parts of florida you might catch it. Sagittarius (to the left) and the milky way, with 4 very visible nebulae - the Lagoon (bright pink in the middle on the bottom of the frame), Triffid (fainter blue-and-pink a little further to the right) , the Omega and Eagle nebulae on the right hand edge of the frame about halfway up. The center of the galaxy is the dark area in the bottom-right (dust bands block out the starlight) so technically you're looking at Sagittarius A*, our galaxy's resident supermassive black hole. This image is from exposures that I thought were screwed up but it turned out that the central area of the photos was fine. That bright pink cloud to the left is the Carina Nebula. In the middle of it there's a star that's been throwing out material, it forms something called the Homunculus nebula, but that's way too small to see. The final image is the most surprising. That yellow, pink and blue cloud to the right is the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex, which is not something I thought I'd be able to capture untracked. It's the closest star nursery (what they call the places stars are born) to Earth. The pink blob all the way to the upper left is (i think) Sharpless 2-9.
