KICK EVERYTHING

When my Dad died, I took several weeks leave to tie up the many loose ends that he left me and my sister.

I hope we can show the PM some grace in the next couple of months. Time for his team to show up for him.

Our days of Not In My Back Yard have to be over because we need water & we need clean energy.
September 14, 2026 at 10:25 AM
NIMBYism will kill us all in the UK. We need more reservoirs & we need more clean energy but try to build anything & you get NIMBYISM.

If you're an ordinary person, the green spaces you see all around you are privately owned. Solar farms & reservoirs make it productive for you & the environment.

ION: it's only Monday & I'm in The-Bra-of-Last-Resort.

Also, this is probably really mean spirited of me but I don't care that he did the Great Northern Run. I'd rather he got on with MAKING DECISIONS on political donations, Thames Water, fossil fuels, far right protesters & EVERYTHING else he's dodged, fudged or handwaved away.

I expect Burnham is having a bad morning. He might actually have to make decisions and DO something.

There's a community woodland project in the village where I live. Looks like due to the dedication of a few volunteers, the youngest trees have mostly survived the drought.
We're going to continue to water them once a week until the winter arrives.

Deleted my Facebook account today.
I will delete Instagram tomorrow.

The hooks were deep. Really deep but I will avoid Meta wherever I can.

Now if I could only persuade the world to avoid WhatsApp...

If I live in the UK, why would I be happy to pay an uncapped Tourist Tax to stay in a hotel here? Have you seen the cost of an overnight stay in a hotel lately?

Guitar practice today was Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. I'm terrible but I enjoy it so much!

My Dad had these tiny jewellery screwdrivers, they lived in our kitchen junk drawer & we thought them sacred objects.

When he died, I inherited them. They live in my home office junk drawer. I just used them to fix the tiny screw on my glasses.

Miss you Dad.

Did Kent Police ignore Dover blockade 999 call?

We can reveal the story that undermines the public statement of Kent Police. 🧵

Personally, I think Milliband knocked it out of the park yesterday & this morning on BBC RADIO 4.

Lots saying it isn't enough but every journey starts with a first step.

If it's a peaceful protest, why do you need to wear a balaclava? Why hide your face? Is it because you're ashamed of the hate you're spewing? You should be.

Still waiting to be allocated a supervisor for my final year as an MSc student. I'm impatient because I want to get out there & start collecting data. I have so many questions!
September 7, 2026 at 6:52 PM
Well, that's me and the Mr arguing about a local proposal for a massive solar farm close to where we live.
He's against it.
I'm broadly for it.

Let's call the whole thing off!

Day 2 of solo parenting.
On the cards today: picnic lunch at either The Hill or The Trees, a local scootering session across the fields, some PS5, board games, Lego. A dip in the tub at about 7pm.

Saturday night & I'm tucked up in bed watching the last episode of Silo & eating Dairy Milk giant buttons.

Large groups of men dressed in black & wearing balaclavas are never not threatening or out in their communities doing good work.

Meanwhile the current government is about to approve Jackdaw in the North Sea.

Tell me you don't believe in climate science without telling me you don't believe in climate science 🤦

Basically, if you're in the UK, stock up with tinned food & bottled water because your past governments have failed to plan for the climate crisis, so you're on your own when the power & water systems fail, which they will, this autumn & winter.
UK government says people should store enough food & water to survive a few days as the next El Niño will exacerbate extreme #weather events when it becomes the worst such #climate phenomenon in 1000 years. The climate crisis is already supercharging… www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Busy day that started with a visitor we didn't know was coming arriving before anyone was out of their pyjamas & will end with me batch cooking in the slow cooker.
