Honestly, same. It’s easy to overthink the process when sometimes you just need to follow the characters and see where they take you. What’s been the biggest surprise in where your story has gone so far?

I completely get that. There’s something about heavy rain that makes everything feel still and grounded. I love how you’re weaving that feeling into his character. Does he find that sense of peace in Seattle?

That’s such a cool way to discover a character’s inner world. Sometimes writing about our own feelings gives us the exact language a character needs. Did journaling that experience change anything else about how you see or write this character?

I really like that idea. Rain is such a simple thing, but everyone can experience it so differently, which makes it perfect for exploring perspective. What made you connect that idea to this particular character?
