While the HESES database is being developed, Iman Arshad, the student-assistant on the project, has spent the past months scanning drawings and photographs of seals from 1st-millennium BCE contexts in Egypt and Sudan published in old and recent excavation reports and specialized studies.

New project: the Hub for Excavated Seals from Egypt and Sudan (HESES), funded by the @dfg.de at @unimainz.bsky.social Egyptology! The goal is a digital #corpus of #seals excavated in #Egypt and #Sudan, to better understand the body of finds in its development and interconnections.
