I've had that line "programmed by fellows with compassion and vision" echoing in my mind about AI, so when Keith Olbermann referenced it, it felt like a spark in the neural network of our shared cultures and wisdom that, more than a living human or generation, will carry us past the AI dangers.

Gladys Kravitz sees stuff but is powerless. The Great Gazoo is invisible to most people and has amazing powers. Describe how each represents a part of the American psyche, especially that of the late 60's and early 70's, and how it echoes in present day cultural dynamics.
