By combining a few different techniques, we have assigned the colours of the long wavelength chlorophyll f molecules. There is also a new Photosystem II subunit (whaaat)!

The cyanobacterium Acaryochloris marina can photosynthesize using far-red light at the edge of the visible spectrum.
