Choosing your gender should be a fundamental unalienable right protected by a constitutional amendment and all gender-affirming procedures (hormones, surgeries, etc) for cis *and* trans people should be required to be fully covered by insurance (or a single payer healthcare program ideally)
a modest proposal: if trans kids aren’t allowed to go thru the puberty they want because they’re “too young to know their gender,” then cis kids shouldn’t be allowed to either, for the same reason. puberty blockers for everyone until age 18, when you’re old enough to decide if you’re cis or not.
