Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.

Tbh, it's not really a new thing. I remember reading reviews of Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum 10ish years ago, and people were complaining that the book was too complicated. And I was like... well, it's not really Eco's fault that he's smart???
The shocking thing to me is that their reaction isn't wonder and appreciation that a story made them learn something new, it's anger and annoyance that it did that.
I don't think 'scrying' is a hard word.

I need people to know that the photos of colourful moon are not from Artemis II. They were made by a Ukrainian photographer, who enhanced the colours of the moon's surface to represent its mineral composition.
I can't stand to see an individual work be misattributed and misrepresented like this.

it's crazy that being like "how do i explain gay couples to my kids?" isn't an unthinkably embarrassing to say in 2025. it's actually incredibly easy to explain, that should be like indignantly saying "how am I supposed to explain to my kids where the sun goes at night? did a bird steal it?!"
