I noticed an issue with my last post so I made a quick fix. (Her ears were too high up) I also gave the background some color which I think made this ref look nicer as a whole.

A new updated reference image of my OC Rene. The upper half has a full body drawing of her alongside her t-shirt graphic and a simple diagram of how her arms/legs work. While the lower half has up close looks at the front and side of her head. (Also her ears were fixed in this version)

A receipt for one of the two medications I need that insurance keeps refusing to pay for no matter how many appeals we send. It's $485.21. I need this medication to keep my Lupus as stable as possible, if it destabilizes it will go back to further destroying all my organs until they shut down from sustaining too much damage. A receipt showing the weekly rate of the hotel I've been at, which is $833.08. I'm aiming to raise enough for a month, so I don't have to scramble week after week to raise enough to barely stay off the street. Living in a hotel means no tenant rights so I'm at the mercy of the hotel's owners and they can kick me out for nonpayment whenever they want.

A wild west cowboy (cowgirl?) version of Rene inspired by the quoted post. Her hair is down rather than her usual ponytail and her glasses have been replaced with something to look a bit more old west (at least to me). Her clothes are based off wild west outfits I looked up for this. She has a dark bandana covering the lower half of her face for super mysterious reasons!

a silly idea i had to quickly doodle
- the guy just happens to work near the nest of the nychora (moths) - the nychora nurse is carrying a baby, and theres other babies squeaking for attention - the nychora nurse has her hands full so she hands the guy one to hold onto for a moment - (from the point of view of the guy) he looks down at the baby nychora (which is really cute btw) - hes elated that the nychora, which are usually very protective of their young, trust him enough to hold one

I finally got around to updating Rene's design. Yeah it's 90% the same but I wanted to make small changes to her for a while. Spent way more time on the way the legs work than I thought lol.

I hate Ai being used at any point of a production but I cannot understand why people think it sounds better to say that you only used it at the early stages of pre-production. That's the fun bit!! The ideas bit!! The creative bit!! The bit that makes your story YOURS.

People like Kane and many many others that do care about human art and the creative process have been a beacon of hope while trying to navigate making art in this current climate.

I don't see the value in outsourcing any element of that. When I'm looking at someone else's project, if I see an element of the environment [where] they use generative fill or whatever to change something about the scene, it just shuts off the part of my brain that wants to know more about that world. Because I would assume if they're willing to make an arbitrary choice there, they could make an arbitrary choice with literally anything.

Using AI for concept art is fine. It doesn't replace anyone and concept art gets scrapped anyway.

Caved and got myself the new Tomodachi. Yeah I fully get the hype. Filling an island with ocs (yes I have more than just Rene) is just fun. Even though sometimes they do stuff the canon version won't do. Like that main character jumpscaring his best friend. But I can look past that and enjoy the fun
