As expected, Creature Commandos is great so far. Gunn is so goddamn good at character moments, and getting the audience to emotionally attach to them through comedic banter and tragic backstories. A perfect blend for comic book storytelling. The DCU is in the best hands possible.
The first two episodes of James Gunn’s ‘CREATURE COMMANDOS’ are now streaming on Max.

I usually love watching a movie on Sunday mornings... but Blitz was a real disappointment boxd.it/7TcaNn
A ★★½ review of Blitz (2024)
Frankly, I was bored by almost every scene that didn't feature Saoirse Ronan... expected something a lot less by the numbers from a director like McQueen...

it looks like dwayne johnson (who most know as “the rock,” of course) is starting in a christmas movie called “red one.” could be worth checking out for fans of pro wrestling as well as anyone who wants to get into the holiday spirit

A Real Pain has stayed with me in the days since I've seen it. Kieran Culkin, even if he's fundamentally doing a similar performance to Roman Roy, is one of the best dramedy actors we have currently. He is effortlessly good at using humor to cover his sorrow. One of the best performances of the year

The color grading chatter about Wicked is mostly true. Too many people think it's a lighting issue though, when it's mostly all due to a far too muted color grade. It, at least, looks a little better in the Emerald City.
Despite it's visual flaws, I thought it's 1/2 of a pretty good adaptation.

I’m sure the Emilia Perez discourse will be completely rational and non-hyperbolic…
I, an intellectual, thought it was a mixed bag.

Phillies are magical. I’d say they’re the World Series favorites because of that magic, but they also had the magic last year and fell short to Houston, which could literally happen again. I will not make any predictions.

The Miami Marlins should be embarrassed that they are letting Kim Ng go after what she’s done for that club under limited resources.
Any MLB team will get better by adding her. I hope the Mets make an offer, but I’m skeptical she’d want to be the number 2 under Stearns.

Good on the BBWAA for defending Mintz. MLB Network should fire Rizzo.

Spencer Strider should quit baseball because I bet he could throw the perfect 700-foot hyzer flip drive. He should dedicate himself to discs, not balls (or strikes).

Taika Waititi takes a lot of heat after Love & Thunder, but as the Loki show continues to be successful, we should be reminded that Taika’s slight revamp of Loki in Ragnarok was integral for making the character believably a “villain-to-hero” (while still being mischievous, his central trait).

One of the most dangerous disc players alive, favors the hyzer throw but prefers a hammer. Lost a purple destroyer recently which disappeared into the ether, if anybody sees this dangerous discer please proceed accordingly.
