Someone I thought I knew blocked me today. Maybe they thought I was being disingenuous when I asked if they could explain something about Epstein files etc. I haven't followed that story. It was an a honest question. They told me I should go read about it & blocked me. I blocked them? Right? Wrong?

Hands down the most depressing article you could possibly read. Kushner's entire life has been funded by daddies. He has tons of influence, no ethics, no morals & thinks the rest of us can suck it. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
Jared Kushner’s Dollar Diplomacy
Jared Kushner represents the kind of Washington figure for whom public office serves as a means to extraordinary wealth.

Spending this fall deleting some social media accounts, first up Linked In. I spent years on there looking for work, never got any, then tried to get traction about our exhibitions. Nope. Then all the arts accounts began touting the greatness of #AI. Hard pass.

Swoon. @theresthistory.bsky.social Tom Holland knows I exist. Sort of. Well, it's enough for me.

The art world is pushing back as fiercely as the tech world against @Pontifex 's defense of artists in the age of #AI. I find this really disturbing. It makes me think we've completely lost the plot in the art world. #MagnificaHumanitas

I wish Sweden and the rest of Europe who seem to embrace us Canadians with genuine love would knock it off with the prizes for Carney. We do not need any provocation to what is already a really horrible trades situation.

Listening to this I am reminded that my passion for history is really a passion for patterns. Aesthetic, cosmic, ecological, political... patterns that play out in poetic journeys, sometimes beautiful, sometimes tragic. @theresthistory.bsky.social youtu.be/KDxnZYBDldk?...

Honest question: why does anyone care who Geddy Lee votes for? He's allowed to vote for anyone he likes and endorse them too. Isn't there some Venn diagram about democracy, free speech etc. where this all works?

The biggest users of #AI are one person start ups usually a hobby that is using it for admin instead of hiring someone. They pay about $20 a month for it. (Patrick Boyle) Will this fund a trillion dollar investment?

"The average CEO of every major company uses #AI for about an hour and half a week" Patrick Boyle And yet the industry is being supported by the biggest investment in history.

I just took a long look at the research Mitacs funds, who they are (just provinces & feds) and all the AI stuff they promote. I think more people should take a look before writing all this off as "Carney helping his buddies" or "pushing AI over human resources"
