y’all didn’t rlly go into it during this DD (hah) but I also *love* how Fisk is the foil to this thesis because he thinks he IS making the hard call for NYC in his own trauma-warped way through all of s1 in particular. I’m rewatching s1&3 leading up to the BA finale and I noticed it for the 1st time

it’s a shame too bc Battle Bond is a really neat concept (even if it is just an obtuse refusal to not give Ash a Mon with an XYORAS Mega) and they managed to narratively and aesthetically go about it in the single worst way possible
