For no reason, I am just remembering a conversation I had with a director a few years ago. I asked him about one of his films and said, "Would you ever do a four-hour director's cut of it?"

He said, "No. I don't have secret four-hour cuts. My movies have scripts."

Subtitles aren’t just for deaf or hard of hearing players. They’re important for players in loud environments (who can’t use headphones), non-native speakers who rely on text to follow dialogue, and many neurodivergent folks who struggle to focus or process audio quickly. Just to mention few.

I love the Charlie Brown Christmas special. There's an eerie loneliness that hangs over the whole thing. The music, Charlie Brown's depression, the dying little tree, the flatness of the children's voices, the inevitability of death. A Christmas masterpiece.

Genuinely makes me sad that history is filled with so many incredible fascinating stories yet the most popular history show on Netflix is some dipshit looking at old civilisations and just going "looks like they used secret technology or magic to build this"
