Chuntering from a sedentary position.
Just checking in (obvs) but I have started singing to one of our cats. That’s normal, right? Her name is Pebble. “Mrs. Pebblicious, Mrs. Peb - Pebblicious”…

President Trump: Would you go to Moscow?

President Zelenskyy: It's difficult. There are a lot of Ukrainian drones there. It's dangerous.

There used to be a paragraph on the Wikipedia entry for Um Bongo that listed the markets into which it had been sold. It drily noted ‘It was available in neither the Republic of Congo nor the Democratic Republic of Congo.’ I think someone without a sense of humour edited it away.

Llandudno pier, a glorious, mostly Victorian survivor. Engineer James Brunlees called in architects Charles Driver and Charles Rew to jazz up his rather dull proposal - the result being this graceful structure completed in 1877. The pavilion at the far end was added in the 1910s.

Only Shallow | mbv

Remember your first listen of Loveless and how the first few seconds punched you in the face? Those four snare hits and the lurching aggression of guitar and bass are incredible, then Bilinda sleepily wafts in from a dream somewhere. Mad

Evan Dando at Rough Trade East tonight was lovely; scrappy, vulnerable, heartfelt and buoyant. However, amongst the Townes Van Zandt and Fred Neil covers I did not expect that he would give us a word-perfect rendition of.. this. youtu.be/Grg5tULy0tY?...

So I can’t be the first to notice the similarity in cadence between speeches given by Jonathan Reynolds and Dave Gorman’s found poetry. And then there’s the beard too. We deserve the truth!

I’ve a pretty strong personal connection to WH Smith. My mum worked there for a significant chunk of her career, focused on selling beautiful pens. And I worked there as a teenager / Saturday job and then later - part-time - to help fund my doctorate. I will miss the place, worn carpets and all.

Spent much of the day listening again to the Kinks’ 1970s output. With the odd dishonourable exception, a perfect set of albums. Better than the Beatles. There, said it.
