I find social media difficult because when someone speaks down to me about my culture or life simply because I don’t share personal details about myself it makes me feel like I need to prove myself to them. But that is a waste of time and usually never ends well so it just makes me feel bad instead.

Sometimes I really believe in timeline jumping if only because when a simple little thing that seemed to be true switches and I’m like on god I cannot be that ignorant or dyslexic/audhd to have got it wrong wtf

People hate on post time skip One Piece but also, sometimes the silliness has to make way for the gravity of what we’re facing. It’s a testament to how important it all is that we become comfortable in intensity in ways that just aren’t compatible with a naive version of self that no longer exists.

I started drawing because my kid likes to call me and chat for hours and I super love that and would NEVER change it for anything and I also get anxious if I’m just “sitting around” and so I like to sketch and chat so what you see — good or not— is usually the product of those conversations lol

I am so grateful everyday for finding one piece. I’m not surprised by the trajectory of my life and the circumstances that prevented me from getting into it when it first appeared, but all things find you when they must and I’m so glad it did.

I hope that the world becomes wonderful for the kids again —there’s something so fantastic about living on a street of old apartments and everyone is the same as you and you open your window and can shout hello across the street, where you catch someone’s eye and they say WERE HAVING A PARTY COME UP

I started writing a story set in my old neighborhood because I think about it all the time and it just takes me back to a time when everything felt fun and possible and wonderful — when the bad seemed to be solvable instead of oppressive and consuming. It’s kinda nice
