He/Him.
“I have multiple passports, including an Estonian one” might be one of the dumbest and easily falsifiable statements ever made.
My next book has a whole section on the psychology behind "People becoming successful by simply lying about already being successful then charging other people to learn their 'secrets' about how to become successful".

This would make a perfect case study, but I doubt the legal team will go with it.

Critics have voiced that:
- AI is there to enclose intellectual labour
- AI is the reverse of printing press
- AI is built on funny money and circular financing
- AI erodes skills of users

If your present these arguments as "merely saying AI bad" you are not arguing in good faith.
The dialogue around LLMs is kind of broken both in terms of critique and advocacy. For critique, we need to focus on how we attack fascist tech power consistently — LLMs are only one part of that; merely saying "AI bad" has simply ended up with a lot of people using AI quietly while feeling shame...
People can’t just say this for literally years now and have the products it creates only positively affect spreadsheet people. Most people have profoundly negative experiences with this product because its utility remains pretty niche but targeted to the capital class.

I have finally finished it and The Irishman is a deeply offensive movie. It doesn’t matter that they retouched actors’ faces, they all still move exactly like an 80 year old man that they are.

I followed Vittorio Angelone on Instagram and now it suggests to me that I should check out this Russian-British comedian who’s entire deal is that their father was the deputy prime minister under Yeltsin and they grew up rich in England.

I don’t think dunking on “historical accuracy” of a story with cyclops and sirens makes any sense but if billionaires were anything like the patrons of arts they like to pretend they are he would hire Aronofsky or Snyder or whoever they believe is the new Reifenstahl and make an actual movie.
JUST IN: Elon Musk says Grok will make a "full-length movie" of The Odyssey that is "historically accurate" by the end of this year.

LOL the English are already on the narrative that Tuchel made defensive subs and cost them the game.

The last time English outfield player did anything worth noting was in 57’ (Spence tackle), from that point on they just didn’t run or press at all.

Imagine flattening the war in Ukraine and the war in Iran to “disagreement of opinions”.
Just to help out some of the commenters on this post:

I'm politically unaligned. I also won't ever celebrate someone's death just because I don't agree with their opinions.

I would not celebrate the death of Trump or Putin. Of Corbyn or Farage.

X is for the Right, what BlueSky is for the Left.
Wouldn't be surprised if the guy who murdered Anne Widdecomb is on BlueSky. This platform is full of disgusting pos individuals who laugh at a murder when the victim doesn't align with their politics.

They have no moral highground to complain about bigotry in others while spewing this kind of hate.

Imagine filming half the movie in Lasnamäe and still letting Branagh do his atrocious "Russian" accent.

It’s incredible how Spanish players reflexively protest any referee decision “against” them. Oyarzabal gesticulating at the ref after running into Olmo is just perfect Spanish football behaviour.

I did not expect the perfect illustration of how the Russian mind operates to be written about Americans.

This thread was engineered in a lab to be as dumb as possible.

First it erases the history of urban development since the antiquity and then when pressed on it does a “no true Scotsman” to belabour some sort US-specific issue.
Important to understand that the walkable euro cities the left idealises specifically came up through centuries of ~anarchic housing and commercial development. The endpoint of high modernist planning *is* the american suburb with its one concentrated mall a 30 minute drive away.

I don’t know why it is still a thing but you should stop saying that you are “20% Polish” or “half French”. Identities are complex and often overlapping but they certainly do not divide in any meaningful way.

Certified monoligualism moment.
Turkiye spelling issue just reminding me how weird it is that in the 21st century there's still a handful of countries we refer to in English with totally different names than the actual people of that country use.

The AC discourse is so funny because it’s just Brits and Yanks. One group cannot imagine a house without sick building syndrome and the other is habituated into framing all issues as something you can solve by consumer choice.

The real mystery is why so many smart people follow this dunce.
America is gonna win the 21st century by default because, despite actively trying to kill ourselves, China is trying to Maoism & debt it’s way out of demographics and Europe is like “air conditioning is evil yankee devil magic”

The most surprising part of this episode was that the book was released in 2014. This is more recent than “the 4-hour workweek” 😅
Episode 53: The Body Keeps The Score

In 2014, a Dutch researcher revolutionized our understanding of trauma with insights like "don't talk about it" and "get a massage."

If you believe that such a thing as “quarter Dutch” exists you are already operating under ethno-nationalist ideology.
Definitely worth a read but does contain quite a few "what the fuck did you think would happen" lines...

I learned that Simone Collins used to be a quirk chungus and recorded a video about “Star Wars pickup lines”. I don’t think I can ever recover.

10/10 episode
we finally talked about That One Natalist Couple and their whole deal and entire history is even more odd than i realized

“Every honest sensible person agrees to” followed by a collection of very terrible opinions is doing me in.
This one slid by yesterday but: if my country is irrevocably chained at the neck to an ailing empire that has now slid into fascism, then I’d ideally like to be told exactly why our continued subservience is mandatory and non-negotiable. Even just to put my mind at rest, you know.

I can’t wait to read in English speaking media that it is a masterful gambit and that Trump achieved US goals in the war.
Pardon my language, but...no fucking way, right?
