I started my new stint as MP for Clacton the way I mean to go on - with a massive lie. I said I was advised not to attend the count by Essex Police, which they then confirmed is bollocks. In fact I just chickened out because I didn't want photos of me next to Count Binface.

There's a good reason that I lied about being refused any state security when in fact I'd been offered a bodyguard, a car & a trained driver, on a par with a high profile cabinet member. It's because I didn't want anyone seeing what i get up to and how little work I do.

I don’t give a shit if “Reform denies rules were broken” because the rules are that u have to declare any gifts over £300 for 12 months prior to becoming an MP.
So unless they’re saying the Times fabricated the entire story (they’re not), then the rules were very much broken.
