Many of us encounter anti-vaccine advocates. One of their most common tactics is the Gish Gallop - a flood of half-truths, anecdotes, and irrelevant claims designed to overwhelm rather than debate honestly. Sadly, can be highly effective on people not well versed in vaccine science.

One of the most amazing park rangers was just fired yesterday without notice. He used to come to our high school all the time and was a highlight of our school years. He has a young family, too.

My cats insist that a mason jar is the best way to drink water.

And yes, I have to keep it constantly full. 😂

To my fellow pipetting Olympians…

Make sure you stretch frequently and visit a physical therapist if you get any pain to work on ergonomics. We have a lifetime of pipetting, so we need to keep our wrists in shape!

Also, watch your neck/back!

I’d suggest visiting a physical therapist a few times to learn some better techniques, but here is a list that can get you started…

Do this before you begin your lab day a couple times and then take a couple breaks throughout the day to do it again.

Do you and your cat just have that “thing” you do together that’s a little odd?

This is the “catch and chew finger game” that can get kind of intense… 😂

I had a great time presenting my research at the Autumn Immunology Conference in Chicago last weekend! I got a lot of great feedback and interest!

Polyanhydrides developed at the Nanovaccine Institute at Iowa State University are versatile - from implants for sustained release to nanoparticles!

I am honored to have received the John Wallace Diversity Award from the Autumn Immunology Conference.

The award was established in honor of Dr. John Wallace, who championed diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sciences.

I am also proud of AIC for including LGBTQ+ people in the award this year.
