I have a blog post in the works about the Green Party Zionism/racism issue but the short version is:

The idea of a homeland or state for the Jews isn't racist.

The demand that someone else gives up their home to make way for it makes way for racism very easily.

This story about a group of men at Cornell University getting away (or all but) with rape reminded me of a chain email I came across as a student in the mid 90s, when I was on a mailing list with a lot of American (mainly female) college students, and it came out of Cornell.

Saw a short video where a lady filling up her motorbike in Glasgow is approached by a guy who warns her about bike thieves in the area, and the comments are full of ppl saying they didn't understand a word he said. The cam biker did understand.

I am Ahmed from Gaza.

I lost my home, and my family and I live in a tent. Life is no longer the same, and every day has become a battle for food, water and basic needs.

If you send your child to a school that you know is a dump, and you have alternatives, you've failed your child.

It's not a child's duty to fight adults' battles for them. It's the job of parents to give their own children the best start in life they can give them.

I upgraded to iOS 27 yesterday and have just had it off charge for about an hour and the remaining charge is still showing 100%. That can't be right, surely? (iPhone 16e) #iOS27

I was listening to the feature on the autistic man whose mum thought he was being scammed by a 'girlfriend' in South Africa and it's clear she is right. He's never seen her face nor heard her voice, and both she and her mum are "too shy" to do a video call.

It’s also because she expressed sympathy with Lindsay Clancy which did not go down well with a lot of Restore supporters. This is what has led to both Orla Minihane’s and the Pink Ladies’ Twitter accounts closing.
EXCLUSIVE:

Restore party members and activists have spoken - on condition of anonymity because they are so frightened of their fellow members - of a 'hostile takeover' which risks turning the party into 'a revitalised British National Party'

Just watching the Channel 4 Documentary about "Tommy Robinson" and what he does with his supporters' money.

When you raise money for a specific purpose, you agree to donate it to a charity in some way related to your appeal, if you cannot return the money to the donors.

Canadian motorcycles? Never heard of those, unless they're secondhand or it refers to bikes owned by Canadians.

There's a song on YouTube called "You Can't Call a Nazi a Nazi (When You're On the Internet)" and it pretty much describes how timid people are with the masked thugs in black. When people dare to call them thugs, their supporters howl with outrage.

If anyone does decide to send money to that PayPal address, please let me know as she doesn’t use it very often so I’ll have to get her or my nephew to go in the account and make sure it’s sent direct to my bank.

Please share our funders. We’re incredibly desperate.
If anyone wants to help us survive, here’s how:

1. Crowdfunder www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/need-money...

2. Wishlist items www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/...

3. Immediate financial support: mum has said ppl can help me via her PayPal: [email protected]. But pls LMK if used because she’s very sick

New photo collection: Wisley RHS Garden in Surrey, taken 21st August. This shows parts of the garden affected by the recent hot summer and drought; Wisley was one of the driest areas of the country until last week's rain.

Wisley RHS Garden is a 240-acre garden in Surrey, built up from an experimental garden founded in the 1870s. It includes a rock garden, a large glasshouse, a woodland, several ornamental ponds, and a library and laboratory (and several cafés) as well as a mock manor house that was built as a laboratory. This visit was taken in mid-August after a two-month drought; Wisley was the driest place in the UK, having had no rain for the entire period until the week prior to my visit. The effect on parts of the garden was striking: the yellowed lawns, many of them fenced off, and the dry pond.

If you are talking about Muslim women in the UK and refer to the veil some of them wear over their face as the "burka", you are showing your ignorance. That term refers to two particular garments, neither of which are worn here. What is worn here is the niqaab.

If these people wanted to live in the south of France, there were more than 45 years when they could have done so before they deprived us all of that right. Some of us like a mild climate and don't like the heat.
That second pull-quote is hilarious. Does it not occur to them that those much hotter places *are themselves* also getting much hotter, with often horrifying results? And that this is part of an ongoing process, not an endpoint? It's like reasoning with a toddler.

Anyone else notice that the government warning not to start fires made no mention of cigarettes?

Cigarettes have been the cause of major disastrous fires in the past, eg. Bradford stadium, King's Cross. #SevereAlert

Dear Government, it's not appropriate to send out a sudden, loud "severe alert" to tell people things they already know.

It's appropriate when the wildfire is down the road and we should pack a bag and prepare for evacuation.
