"Of all the Scott Arnolds in the world, you're the Charlie Browniest."
I draw pictures and design UI. Not necessarily in that order.
I love that Len's "speaker" ribbon looks like a participation award.

Comics will break your heart... Here's your participation ribbon.

A death metal band... From Denton... Perhaps?

By a lake, in fact... Referred to as "The Mistake By The Lake" - which is an apt nickname...

Living with roommates post graduation, I hooked my old Atari 2600 up just so we could play Warlords. One controller was iffy, so the most sober person got that paddle. Cost of sobriety

Pending southern Ontario thunderstorms... Perfect day for celestial observation. So Ontario-weather-coded.

Thank you, sir. Godot is my favourite play, and I've seen multiple stagings, but yours was one of the best - from staging to performances, it was a phenomenal piece of art.

(I don't like to randomly tag folks, but I have to hope @alexwinter.com would appreciate this - his work on Godot was brilliant)

And the slow descent into madness from drawing that many books... Does that arrive at the same time, or has that pre-shipped? (This is so lovely, BTW)

(maybe just me, but I get a 'bad gateway' error trying to connect to the store?)

I have a photo with you and Chip that speaks to a love of small, weird, con spaces... Zdarscon was the best. ❤️

Is this a silent request to write a new comic series based on the show? Or a new series about (clearly) fictional comic writer "Sail Gimone" and her wacky murder investigations while scripting the "Z-Men" comics?

So. Many. Nephews. (I don't know that, just it felt like there was always a handy relative somewhere new... And I say this as someone who loved the show)

I have to wonder if it is a "small screen" movie... That is my hope haha
July 10, 2026 at 7:09 PM
There is a movie coming, apparently, with Jamie Lee Curtis - for your reboot consideration.

How fantastic! Will put it on my reading list. ❤️
July 5, 2026 at 1:53 PM
Sounds brilliant... Will there be an audiobook, and will you be reading it? (This clip sounds like you should ❤️)

Only if the scanner is connected to a flux capacitor...

As a Canadian, I came late to Doonesbury, but my understanding of 70s / early 80s politics was 100% shaped by Trudeau. It was a comic you had to occasionally research, and all the better for that.

El Ten Eleven... I find them a perfect soundtrack for creativity (not least through association with the movies of Gary Hustwit, but they work on their own as mental lubricant!)

I use physical space to control things that get in the way of working. Not taking breaks? Listen to a vinyl record or single CD and force yourself to get up and change or flip it as a way to stop staring at the page. Doing work digitally? Use the same trick to change from stand to sit on your desk.

(he built a box with the still life inside and travelled with it, but also could set it up anywhere so he didn't have to leave it in one space... Also painted every object grey so color wouldn't impact his drawing... He was mad, and brilliant 😂)

One of my drawing teachers in college drew the same still life every day for a year. His logic was, dancers rehearse... Why shouldn't artists? He gained a ton of insights into how he taught illustration, but it was from accepting repetition can be a part of craft.

I love the saying "perfect is the enemy of great" - sounds a little like a platitude, but I've always found it to be true... You can make something truly GREAT if you just finish it.
