Just finished up the demo for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.

It’s a little stiff—which is very Castlevania, tbh—and that first boss was a little too “git gud,” right out the gate for my tastes.

All in all I enjoyed my time with the game. ⬇️

Each of these games were an obsession for me when they
came out.
The original Super Mario Bros. was the game that made me a gamer — and I’ve never rolled credits on it after all this time (shameful, I know).

One of the hosts from the podcast Vidjagame Apocalypse casually joked about “Dewey, Louie and Huey Freeman —why isn’t that a thing?” So one thing lead to another… and I guess I made it a thing😅

I wondered why in Star Trek TNG, they’d always run holodeck programs based on Sherlock Holmes or film noir—wasn’t there anything culturally significant in the future? I feel like the incursion of AI on art and literature has offered me an answer to that question that I wish I didn’t know.

Good lord, Star Trek is 60! I can’t remember a time before Star Trek. The ships, the stories, the characters—I love it all! I was a 3rd generation Trekkie. Apart from smoking, I think Star Trek might have been the only thing my father and my grandmother had in common.
Here’s to 60 more years.
