I'm on playthrough 4 of Lies of P bc I got the 'best' ending the first time but didn't! get! the trophy! bc the game was like 'want to do NG+' and I'm like 'surely you wouldn't ask me this if there was content after the credits' (there was content after the credits). so I've gotta go back for it

I made up a character for a Lies of P fic & named her Enrica. She's an artist from the Malum District (an art forger tbh). I just found out that the artist behind a common/enduring drawing of OG Pinocchio is named Enrico. what a happy accident... or um, clever & intentional reference :P

either I get more cool lore & screen time for a character I love, or everything I love abt him becomes so removed from who he actually is, as someone else's character, that I was tricked into making my own character this whole time. & now I get a character to polish up & repurpose. 2 paths i guess!
all that being said, I'm not going to stay with the series if they write Paracelsus as a Simon Manus type villain who's only in the story to defeat so the hero can protect all the worthy characters. & I'm not gonna fight him if he's a boss fight that represents killing him & not just defeating him.

that is to say, he's very quick to put the emphasis on the thing that he can do for someone, & make himself 'the man behind the curtain', unimportant, not interesting. which is to say that this kind of thing could be vibe foreshadowing for the next game, where he will feature prominently(?)
if Paracelsus wrote the letter to Antonia abt getting the gold coin fruit tree w the hotel in Overture, he was like "eh you don't want to hear me ramble, let's talk business." & he gives P the cube as a down payment on gold coin fruit, making things transactional right away.
I wouldn't go so far as to theorize that Paracelsus is THE wizard of Oz (could be I suppose), but they operate in similar ways. they want you to see them as a miracle worker, & they are actually quite vulnerable (assuming Paracelsus is in real danger, he is so so scared for his life the whole time)
