Just in case you were wondering whether CBS reporting can be trusted, here's what they left out:

"money was intended to pay off a former student to hide past sexual abuse from his time as a high school wrestling coach"

Statute of limitations kept him from being criminally charged of sexual abuse.
Wasn’t there something else that he did which was really, really evil?

22 California billionaires have spent a combined $150 million to defeat Prop 40.

Their combined wealth in January 2025 was $439 BILLION.

By September 2026, it had grown to $722 BILLION.

They're accidentally making the case for the billionaire tax better than anyone else could.

Not sure why these stories keep reporting "numbers" since they seem to be consistently "revised down" and don't seem to be validated in any way.

Hey @pbsnews.org, didn't you just report this yesterday? Makes it hard to know what to believe.

"The number of people applying for U.S. unemployment benefits dipped last week to the lowest level since mid-July as layoffs remain low and most American workers enjoy job security.

I see "Self-funding multimillionaire political newbie"" Eric Jones is running against Mike Thompson in California's 4th district.

Haven't we already learned the hazards of inexperience + big money in our politics?

Jones' negative attack commercials hardly make him look like a reasonable choice.
Come ask me anything. Seriously.

Let’s talk about how we can fight corruption, lower the cost of living & protect CA-4’s future — and why we need new leadership. I don't take corporate PAC money. So when you ask me something, the only person I have to answer to is you.

Reminder, social media "impressions" are not the same as Nielssn viewing ratings.

"Even if TikTok users quickly swipe past a post, it is still counted as an impression. And if a post appears multiple times in a person’s feed, it would be counted as an impression each time [even if never watched].
In an interview with Time magazine, President Donald Trump said, “We did a convention that had 107 million views, and it stupidly was put opposite the NFL opening, and we got more views. They got 25 million. We got 107.” This is comparing apples and oranges. buff.ly/gEpzBzF
Trump’s dubious claim: GOP convention audience beat the NFL
President Donald Trump said “the overall numbers” for the Republican midterm convention audience “beat the NFL.” That’s not true for TV ratings, and it’s unlikely for social media impressions.

Go figure -- the pretend news station doesn't want to raise issues like the appallingly botched execution of a white woman.

Crazy also that the Supreme Court weighed in immediately for the execution to go forward yesterday after the execution was temporarily stayed.
Marsha Blackburn was just on Newsmax, but somehow hosts did not ask her about the biggest story in her state right now, which is the botched execution of Christa Pike

Wow . . . . all the idiot talking heads seem to be making the rounds spouting their stupidity today.

If Rick Scott thinks private sector regulation of healthcare is the way to go, then let's take away his government coverage and let him feel the impacts of "private sector regulation" first hand.
Rick Scott: "Obamacare has been a disaster, so what we gotta do is we gotta go back to let the private sector work. Give you the choices ... treat it like a cell phone. You know what plan to buy."

Does anyone else who lives in the real world feel like this must be an Onion headline or something?

Sometimes you just have to laugh at how pervasive the incompetence of the Trump administration is.

Of course, always possible AI was used to draft the document.
Trump White House misspells “United” on the official “super intelligence” document with AI executives.

Instead of “President of the United States,” it reads: “President of the Unites States.”

Nothing says “super intelligence” quite like misspelling the name of the country.

What planet is @pbsnews.org on?

The only thing that has "grown" are the stock portfolios of the rich and the balance sheets of the big companies not paying their share of taxes and seeing record profits (price manipulation?).

Everyone else is juggling to pay for rising fuel, food, and housing.
September 30, 2026 at 4:27 PM
But sure . . . . it's FINE to expect AI companies to regulate themselves.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong?
On the same day Trump announces that top tech firms have signed an accord to "self-police" their own AI development, we learned that OpenAI employees and security researchers were reportedly ignored when they brought safety concerns to the company's top executives.

See the problem here?
OpenAI Ignored Employees’ Warnings About Safely Testing A.I. Models
Employees and security researchers said that they had cautioned the company on safely testing its A.I. models and strengthening its corporate infrastructure, but that OpenAI did not listen.

There are no words for how incredibly stupid and cruel this is.

Our immigration system has been broken for years/decades. This is just one more example of HOW broken it is.

Too bad the Administration isn't focusing their efforts and massive funding on making things better, rather than worse.
“A 1-year-old baby appeared in immigration court without legal representation in Arizona and received an instruction: File an asylum application before the next hearing or face deportation.”
Judge to Baby: File an Asylum Application
The 1-year-old is one of the migrant children who advocates say appeared in immigration court without legal representation.

This sounds like a fabulous campaign ad for Democrats.

How on earth does Johnson think claiming that they would do "exactly what we have been doing already" if they hold the House would be some kind of positive selling point?

Is he so busy doing nothing that he hasn't seen the war, prices, etc.?

If anyone wants to read stories like that, they might as well just subscribe to the National Enquirer (if it still exists). At least that way there will be no pretending that it is actual journalism.
It’s tragic for the country and its democracy to watch the demise of a once great paper
Actual headline in today's WaPo.

Just when you think the Trump administration can't be any more repugnant, they show again that there is no end to their cruelty and stupidity.
BREAKING: The Trump administration is asking the Supreme Court to allow essential health care to be withheld from transgender people in federal prisons.

Denying medically-necessary care to any incarcerated person is cruel and unusual punishment — period.

Yet another reason why DHS/the Federal government has no business doing anything regarding elections.

All they are doing is sewing fear and false narratives about non-existent illegal voters, while disenfranchising legal voters.

Though I guess that is their whole intention, isn't it?

AI is being used to...

-Facilitate online scams
-Process health insurance claims, leading to wrongful denials
-Price gouge customers via surveillance pricing
-Set higher car insurance premiums using personal data

The dangers of AI aren’t in some far-off future.

They're already here.

-Gifted millions of free books to kids
-Ensured musicians she worked with got union benefits
-Helped fund medical research and the COVID vaccine
-Donated millions to communities hit by natural disasters
-Funded high school band programs

She is missed!

Is this what you voted for?

If so, why?
Trump's Iran War has sent mortgage rates skyrocketing.

His trade wars have increased the cost of construction.

His mass deportations have decimated the home-building workforce.

And his HUD cuts have devastated affordable housing programs.

Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year.

If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.

The fact that Vance can't even keep the attention of Fox News shows just how useless he is.

The fact that the host actually says "if he starts to make news" is too funny.
