Spottiswoode Park Community Launch: NRP + Participatory Budgeting – Highlights
🔙 Looking back at where it all began. Over 180 Spottiswoode Park residents came together for the Community Launch of Singapore's first Participatory Budgeting (PB) pilot. In partnership with Grassroots Adviser Foo Cexiang, the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) and Tanjong Pagar Town Council, residents were briefed on the PB process and embarked on a Discovery Walk — exploring six potential sites for renewal, exchanging ideas, and imagining what their neighbourhood could become. What followed over the next three months was a resident-led journey — from 162 ideas submitted, to feasibility reviews, to a community exhibition and selection exercise in July.
