“We’ve seen this movie before: The computing revolution. The internet boom. The smartphone. Each time, workers got more productive. But shareholders got the reward. And neoliberalism gave us the language to justify this heist.”

Not a small deal! Union membership at a 16-year high (but union density is another story).

Still, the decline of unions is decelerating, and that’s a necessary step to building momentum and growing our strength in numbers.

Somehow I found out that Robinhood has an explainer on their website on Karl Marx's conflict theory

UAW Supports Medicare for All 🧵

Every working-class person deserves decent health care. No one should have to choose between seeing a doctor and putting food on the table. But that’s exactly what our current health care system does.

AOC: Some of the Republicans whose districts we visited just warned their leadership that they’re not sure they can vote for Medicaid cuts now.

We’ve got them on their back foot. But our job is not done.

We will rally every corner of the U.S.

We will not stop until they actually vote no.

I see some positive coverage of Brandon Johnson, and then I see the polls.
What is up with him
Johnson stood firm under fire in defending Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance.

“I think we showed the world today what the soul of Chicago represents. Our soul is based on the fact that we believe that no human being is illegal,” he said at a post-hearing press conference.

👋Fellow Democrats, the party needs to rethink all the anti-tariff absolutism. I’m a Rust Belt Democrat from swingy Western PA—where lousy trade deals like NAFTA stripped us for parts. Democrats need to break free from the zombie horde of neoliberal economists who think tariffs are always bad. 🧵

Among all the differences between Connolly and AOC, this question alone would've gone so much better.
With federal employers under attack, she would've used her position to agitate workers across the country to organize. You can tell bc she's doing it rn anyways.
Instead, we got... this 😐
Asked what he recommends federal workers do, Gerry Connolly says: "I guess if you can, cover yourself and do the five things you did last week"

Germany going through the same thing as America is unsettling.
In the 40s it was a handful of countries that made the clear fascist turn. But now that’s the rule with few exceptions
Once upon a time, the social democrats were the workers’ party in Germany.

In the election today the extreme right AfD gained 3x more support from workers than the SPD.
