I gotta say I find a lot of AI discourse around higher ed very confusing. "if ChatGPT can write your essays is college even worth it?" did people think math teachers were assigning problem sets because *they* couldn't figure out the answers?

This sums up my horror at the use of AI by students. The act of writing is how you learn.
Also students - you want to be graded based only on high stakes in person tests and presentations? You want that anxiety? Thats what using AI to write papers will get you.

As a reminder, executive orders—while noteworthy and significant—are basically advisory memos from the White House, as the president does not have the legal or constitutional authority to issue edicts with the force of law
This new White House executive order says that the US Attorney General is going to prevent states from implementing democratically passed laws regarding climate change and clean energy. It scarcely needs stating at this point that this is wildly, unambiguously unconstitutional. Dictator shit.
