Correction: the shelter figures (Taiwan 370%, Japan 5%) did not match the sources. Taiwan can shelter over 3x its population; Japan has about 4,000 underground sites. The 150 libraries are England's net fall in publicly run ones since 2016, and about 100 of those continue under community groups.

Correction: 0.02% of GDP is the Agency for Cultural Affairs' initial budget alone, not all public spending on culture. "1/5 of France's" had no source: in the Agency's comparison (2020), culture took 0.92% of France's government budget and 0.11% of Japan's. The article is corrected.

Correction: this post named the Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform, founded in December 1996. The group the article discusses is the Liberal View of History Study Group, a separate body. The article is corrected and carries a correction note.

Correction: two studies named here were wrong. They should read MacLennan et al. (2022) and the Guangzhou GEMA study (2020), not Albacha et al. or Hong Kong. "None measure" also overstated it: our searches found none, which is not that none exist. The article now carries both corrections.
