The religious zealots are a menace, Abbott's bigoted fingers all over this. This is the problem in Trump's America, we have a separation of church and State and that includes Government schools that are required to provide secular education.

I think that if you check we are a Federation and the states have the powers for local police, criminal laws etc. I suppose that each has to enact powers

My mistake on the date but Howard was the PM who changed the School funding laws from needs based to market driven, dismantling the previous funding model

Howard changed the laws and funding in 1990, abolished restrictions on funding for new private schools regardless of demographics and existing public school capacity. later changed the rule that SES modelled on average income rather that actual parents wealth. Good luck changing any of that

I thought that the LNP were thinking about supporting the legislation and changed to say no just after White House comment that interfering with Social Media companies would be punished.

ON, ON, ON, non stop. This is mission accomplished, it's falling into the ON trap to post or say something and all media complies, non stop all morning. Some Australian media do this also, make a claim on front page and it sets off media plus social media to go on and on, mission accomplished!

2026/7 budget local infrastructure fund.New $2b eligible projects roads,footpaths, bridges culverts,water and wastewater infrastructure. Electricity grid connections and upgrades , public transport works. Infrastructure to support new housing. That will assist councils, worth checking facts first
