Just finished this... phenomenal book. Not only does it cover the victims, the perpetrators, and the organization, it talks about how the history and culture of America lends to all these factors. One of the best examples of contextualizing a cult I've read.

On Saturday, a close friend died unexpectedly. My friend group is grieving. We were lucky enough to see him on Thursday in the hospital, where he expressed his intention (hope?) to be released the next day. Many have known him decades longer than I, but the loss and ache is deep. I'm reminded again

Wifey and I watched #thedevilwearsprada2. I deeply loved the first one so I watched with both nostalgia and expectations. Deeply happy. Hit the right notes. Characters had permission to grow in the intervening 20 years.

Other than the obvious reason why this award is bullshit, the only US military award that is worn around the neck is the Medal of Honor. Its completely inappropriate to award it like this instead of pinning it to the lapel. Guess that shows how unfamiliar Pete Hegseth is with getting a medal.

Somewhere in my junior yearish I came out of the Evangelical haze and realized the radio had more stations. Enema of the State was waiting for me and I have had a soft spot for Blink-182 since. This and What's My Age Again are instant transports.
Saw #theodyssey. I really liked it, particularly the choices regarding the portrayal of the female characters.

So the guy who wants to be Arizona’s top lawyer just told 18,000 of our neighbors to be ready to be deported. These are nurses and firefighters and people who’ve lived here their whole lives, and he’s looking them in the eye calling them illegals.

I like ironing, which I know makes me strange to a lot of people, but the Army gave me a good sense of appreciation for applying heat and pressure to create order. I don't do it a lot outside of sewing since we're part of the WAH brigade, but I'm traveling for work and needed to press my suit..

I continue to fight for the understanding that there is a difference between functional sexuality and attraction sexuality.
I am functionally a lesbian. I am uninterested in sex with men. However, I can find men attractive so I am not entirely homosexual. Works the other way too.

Whatever motivated you to do the thing you know you need to is good. Today is was the smoothie. Serving of frozen berries, serving of spinach, protein, fiber (chia seeds), magnesium, calcium, creatine...I almost always prefer to drink my calories and this is a favorite.
