Exclusive: Bert Callais, lead plaintiff in case that gutted Voting Rights Act, is an election conspiracist who was at Jan. 6 protest
Social media posts exclusively reviewed by Democracy Docket paint a far more troubling picture of Callais — suggesting a man who harbors a deep distrust of the election system, which he has called “ri...

Leaders in Illinois’ largest county just passed a resolution to oppose giving Big Oil corporations legal immunity. 👏

Big Oil's climate lies have resulted "in significant costs to the public," said Cook County Board Commissioner Bridget Degnen.

Timeline:

Liberals on the Supreme Court voted to limit partisan gerrymandering. All the conservatives said no, it’s up to states.

Dems then tried to ban partisan gerrymandering in Congress. R’s said no.

GOP states started redistricting mid decade because Trump told them to.

Here we are.
This is exactly how Democrats used to talk about Republican redistricting back when Rs were handily winning the partisan gerrymandering wars (and thus rejecting Dem federal legislation to prohibit it).

The Cook County Board can fall under the radar, but yesterday the Board passed three environmental resolutions led by Commissioner Degnen.

One of which urges Congress to REJECT efforts to provide legal immunity for fossil fuel companies.

Preparing & posting the flyer the other defendants shared is also listed as one of the "overt acts" of the alleged conspiracy. So is receiving texts "from a local news correspondent in Minnesota" that an ICE officer (David Easterwood) serves as a Cities Church pastor, deeming that news "outrageous."

Big oil’s argument that it should be illegal for states/localities to make polluters pay: pollution is a federal issue ONLY because it drifts across state lines

Fed government argument in getting rid of regulations: pollution is actually a local issue so we can’t do much

Trump admin in 10 cases after shooting someone, either dropped charges or Judge dismissed them after evidence emerged showing gov’t lied.

“There’s such pressure from the administration to charge right away and make headlines so they can put out false press releases.”

Bovino made a speech defending the killing of Alex Pretti yesterday, in which he talked all about "choices."

He chose to terrorize and teargas communities, racially profile, and pathologically lie. It's also true the Trump admin is full of people like this.
BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
