What Dolly taught us is that it is in fact possible to be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams of avarice but still be a fundamentally good person with a strong moral compass, and the only reason more rich people aren't like that is because they don't want to be.

Because of the lead time involved in releasing a vinyl LP, they end up getting released before the album is even finished lol

It’d be like if Chris Nolan released an incomplete version of The Odyssey to theaters and the finished version wouldn’t be ready till streaming

Apparently Stewart Lee’s routine wasn’t entirely absurdist then.
I used to work near one of Rod Liddle’s preferred lunchtime restaurants and would often catch him exiting as I was heading home. Once saw him “live life to the full” all down his front and over his shoes.

oh my god!!!! there's an actual answer!!!! Google Maps does hide Brighton!!!!!!! bsky.app/profile/robi...
I actually know the answer to this and it's slightly insane.

Google pulls from Wikipedia to determine if a place is a city, town, neighbourhood, whatever.

Brighton's first line describes it as a "seaside resort" so Google Maps thinks it's a neighbourhood and doesn't display it in the "city" font.

Tesco is extending its Kids Eat Free scheme to 7 days a week over the summer, where children get a free meal with an adult purchase, but honestly, this detail about how small the adult purchase can be broke my heart.

I've never understood this. Just tell me if the book is well written and let me read it for the information.
It's odd to me that so many non-fiction book reviews are mostly a recapping of the book's contents. I guess review readers generally like that b/c it's been that way a long time (forever?) but I want more analysis of the book when I'm reading a review.

Absolutely devastating take apart of the cinematographer of the Melania doc - even better for the fact that he has no idea he's been politely stomped to the molecular level.
