@kaye.zone @garybutterfield.bsky.social Hope this isn't too weird - but I've listened multiple times to your Adaptation Decay about the heinous Donkey Kong Christmas episode - and in searching for a board game shop for my next US visit, found a place whose name is a direct quote from that show!

@mattthr.bsky.social loved your pieces in the Top 50 Guardian article! Re Dune Imperium Uprising: I’ve had the original Dune Imperium on my shelf for about two years. Is Uprising that much superior that I should skip straight to it and give away the original?

Happy tenth birthday to a consistently fantastic, comforting listen.

Dan is an extraordinary writer but this may be his best work yet. It is a very tough read. Be warned.
I don't know how to introduce this one. After three titles about opium peddling, I figured the rest of SDHistCon would be breezy by comparison. I was wrong. The next day, I experienced one of the toughest board games I've ever played. Perhaps *the* toughest. spacebiff.com/2025/11/24/u...
Unnameable
After the first day of SDHistCon, where I played three games about opium peddling, I figured the second would be easier on my stomach. I could not have been more wrong. It has no name. Its designer…

“Bad Day” was released as a single on this day in 2003. It is one of two previously unreleased songs included on In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003.

@mattthr.bsky.social Matt! Bit of advice. Going on a trip with friends - we are all board game players of varying degrees and also big LOTR fans (i.e. theming we can all get on board with). What game would you go to? I am thinking perhaps the recent trick taking game, but there are six of us….

@kaye.zone Hi Kaye - very glad to be back at the Eagle tier! It’s felt weird being away.

Quick question: is there a combined premium feed? I didn’t see it in the explanatory Patreon post. And also, not sure if you’re aware but the public combo feed on Pocketcasts is just showing DOFC episodes.

Over the last two days I’ve seen the Stranger Things play and Superman - both unabashed, fist-pumping crowd pleasers - and the former actually stunning in terms of stage craft. Recommend both!
