Since it is dunking on the Cubs and Counsell day, here’s a fact that I discovered today. Craig Counsell has lost 12 straight games on the road as a manager (0-5 with Cubs, lost last 7 with Brewers after winning first 2). His last road win was at LA in game 3 of the 2018 NLDS

Reminder that they were picked 18th in the team fun draft this spring. They won 103 games and it was the most fun 6 months of baseball I've ever experienced.
Sitting here getting irrationally (or is it?) annoyed at @benlindbergh.bsky.social and @megrowler.fangraphs.com for passing on the Brewers over and over and over again in the “fun team” draft. Like, the Rangers? REALLY?

Wisconsin had a 96% post game win expectancy yesterday. They throughly dominated PSU and only had to comeback because of the picks that lead to 10 points.
LOWEST POSTGAME WIN EXPECTANCY IN A WIN, WEEK 4:

Iowa > Michigan 7.3%, lol
Army > Temple 24.5%
Air Force > Nevada 25.0%
Tulane > So Miss 45.0%

Iowa: least likely win of the year so far

Just got the first full on Christmas commercial watching CFB on YouTubeTV. It is September 26

Harrison has not pitched since Tuesday. You need to get him as much action this weekend as possible. Why are we going to high leverage guys in a game that literally doesn’t matter

Miz looking sharp pitching on four days rest is very encouraging

Give MLF a three point deficit and great field position and he’ll still somehow play for the tie

This was back from May’s near no hitter for the Cardinals against the Brewers. Once one thing went wrong, he spiraled. Have seen this at times with the Brewers too. If he doesn’t have his best stuff, he doesn’t battle and gets rocked
Some terrible body language from May this inning. First sign of adversity and he just gave up
September 19, 2026 at 12:26 AM
All four Orioles hits have come on May’s cutter. Contreras needs to be stopped

Wonder if Miz will go on 4 days rest this Sunday or the following Sunday. If he pitches on that final day of regular season, he would be on normal five days rest for G1 of NLDS

Four hardest hit balls so far have been by Brewers. They are 0/4 in those batted balls.

Chourio AB's are starting to feel like 2018-19 Yeli AB's. Gotta be seated for them and you are almost upset if it's just a single or a walk.

Happy Fangraphs Playoff Odds clinch day! Up from 99.9% yesterday.

Lara takes far too many called third strikes for a guy known for a good eye

@rdtopp.bsky.social @jaymesl.bsky.social @badgernoonan.bsky.social forget who said it on this week’s MKE Tailgate. But someone said that PCA probably wasn’t getting to 40/40 this year (33 SB entering today) and I immediately thought “well now he’s stealing 5+ bases this series alone.”

Missed this live. But ball 1 challenge is quite possibly the worst challenge decision of the year (a high bar to reach!) 1st pitch of an inning, tie game so challenges will be important, and it wasn’t remotely close. A first pitch in this situation should like never be challeneged! Unless it’s 100%

Joey struck out looking and is already having a much better day than Hamilton would have if he started
September 7, 2026 at 7:00 PM
The punt decision was mostly ok. The decision to burn a TO and still punt from your own 36 is the killer. Sure would be nice to have 2 TO left for this drive!
September 7, 2026 at 1:18 AM
Quite clear that Naylor is not a quality option either at the plate or behind the plate.
September 6, 2026 at 5:31 PM
If the Brewers are not up 2-0 after their two home games in the NLDS, I'm afraid it will be a quick playoff exit. The quality starting pitching depth is suddenly gone

The Wrigley wind is just so overpowered. Shaw's flyout had no business being anything but a lazy flyball. .020 xBA! And it was to the track

Me at the start of the inning - "Why the hell is Counsell letting Boyd stay in here?
Me two batters later - "Ah I see now"

Brewers about to win the next three games by 1 run each and take 3 of 4 despite a -10 run differential

William will challenge a random 1-0 pitch in the first inning inning but not this 3-2 pitch with two outs
