Strange but true: most car companies are actually banks. Their primary revenue stream isn't from the sales of cars, it's from interest on car loans. The cars are just an incentive to get you to take out a 5-6 year loan.

When I bought this device there was no mention of my purchase being time limited at your discretion. It does not require software updates, so the only "support" necessary is that kindle books are available in a format that can be sent to it.
