My friends call me Kate (pronouns: She/Her), and I'm a lifelong Trekkie and Star Wars fan. I enjoy movies, TV, and comic books, and I also write fanfiction. I'd be posting more fandom stuff if the world wasn't going to heck.
Doesn't surprise me. (sigh)

Also, thank you for finally acknowledging you basically just wanted to make TOS.

TOS could play around and be more experimental because it wasn’t a traditional ensemble, it was the Kirk, Spock and McCoy show. SNW wanted be a traditional ensemble and serialise romantic relationships, which isn’t what TOS was.

The identity of this show is a mess.

They’ve been doing this from the beginning, telling people it’s going to be conventional Trek and then just blindsiding people with questionable choices.

It’s very clear that the messaging around this show has been in conflict with what the show actually releases.

One of the Trek podcasts (I forget which one) put it best: SNW seems to have no identity. As I see it, it promised to be one thing, and became something else.

I'm hopeful it'll finish strong. (Next week's season finale looks promising.)

I enjoyed the episode myself, but I will say that how the series has turned out so far is frustrating. It started so strong, and now it's just "genre-of-the-week, and the characters seem to be shadows of themselves.
