I will definitely take “there's a good reason he was like that, we fixed it” over "there's a ‘reason’ he’s like that & he’s not going to change, so accept the Awfulness bc desire/love/fate” version that was (still is?) everywhere for so long

This is probably why I identify as a social democrat when asked what I "am" politically. I don't want to get rid of markets and I want reasonably powerful government, because both of them create power centres, and I think the way to solve for human greed is competing and roughly equal power centres.

I’m not happy about it, but these days 🇨🇦,🇺🇸,💙, 🦅 and ✝️ are probably my top 5 where if I spot them in a handle, bio or post, my finger is already moving towards the block button
