For repetitive or other non-creative work, carrot motivations are effective.

The problem comes when people use dangling carrots for everything, which can actually undermine/remove intrinsic motivations even for creative work, turning everything into a transaction.

My understanding of intrinsic motivation in the workplace is that it only really applies to creative work, or at least work where there's some possibility of putting creativity into it (like how one structures it, as another responder said)

Is the reason to avoid AI summaries because of use of one's info / security / privacy? Or because of the real possibility of falsehoods / hallucinations in the responses?

Yeah, I'm thankful my parents divorced before I even have memories. Wasn't easy growing up with divorced parents, but I'm _completely_ sure it would have been even harder had they stayed together

To those who haven't read it - this is a surprisingly great book, and not just because it's a well-written fantasy tale - it's a little absurdist, placed in inconsistent time settings, having characters seemingly from different books all together. It's much much more than just unicorns and rainbows!
